Priority Thematic Areas
1) Human Rights Protection
IAU developed a resource mobilization strategy to advance the protection of Human Rights by;
* Educating refugees and other disadvantaged communities on their rights and obligations
* Providing legal representation for the refugees and other disadvantaged communities
* Supporting refugees and other disadvantaged communities access to basic services
* Increasing the capacity for human rights protection, programming and service delivery
2) Education
IAU developed a strategy to promote access and delivery of quality basic and vocational education by;
* Mobilising communities for demand and utilisation of quality basic and vocational education
* Increased the capacity to deliver quality basic and vocational education
* Supporting the provision of safe learning environment
3) Livelihood and Food Security
IAU developed a resource mobilization strategy to enhance food security and sustainable livelihoods by;
* Supporting increased food production at household level
* Supporting income generation activities
* Increasing programming capacity and delivery of services for sustainable livelihoods
4) Health (HIV and AIDS, Malaria, Maternal and Reproductive Health)
Environment and Disaster Management
As reflected in the organisation’s strategic plan, this aims at enhancing availability and access to quality Health (HIV and AIDS; Malaria, Reproductive Health); Water& Sanitation through;
* Providing and Supporting delivery and access to Health services
* Providing and supporting access to WASH Services
* Increasing Health and WASH programming and delivery capacity
5) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
IAU developed a resource mobilization strategy to contribute to promotion and protection of the environment and disaster management which;
* Promotes the protection of the environment and contribute to disaster management
* Undertakes actions to promote environmental education
* Promotes tree planting and use of alternative sources of energy
* Assesses the vulnerability to natural and human based hazards
* Builds or develops capacity for the protection of the environment and disaster risk reduction
* Establishes, disaster management, and increase environment protection programming and delivery capacities
