InterAid Uganda carries out community outreach in Bondeko Refugee Community

InterAid Uganda, 6th – 10th August 2012

Refugee children contributed to the UNHCR Global Education strategy. They too have a right to self expression. Due to the fact that most refugee children are coming from different nationalities, fitting into the Ugandan education curriculum has been a challenge. Refugee Children need acceptance by the local communities in which they live. Children appreciate schools like Old Kampala that have devised best practices such as the dressing code for refugee children and special prayer time for Muslim children which have encouraged many children to join school.
